Word Worth's
mission is to publish Editorials and Columns on subjects as diverse as xeriscaping, travel, archeology, and many others, and to present fine poetry, stories, novels, and photography in the Arts section.  The opinions presented are those of the individual writers, and not necessarily those of Word Worth.  We do not shy away from controversial subjects, but we believe in dealing with them respectfully and rationally.  In one of his relatively more recent concerts, Arlo Guthrie said that over the years he had made friends that he might not have expected to make initially.  He concluded that there are two kinds of people: those who care and those who don't.  He came to realize that you can find both of those kinds on every side of every issue.  We concur with that sentiment, and hope to present ideas in the spirit of enlightened searching.

When we began Word Worth, we didn’t know how this venture would turn out. We were aware that on-line magazines fall faster than leaves in a late October wind and print literary magazines even faster. As it has turned out, we have been gratified and honored to have readers from all over the world. We have gotten up to 100,000 hits a month from, in addition to the eduUnited States, caCanada, ukGreat Britain, mxMexico, frFrance, noNorway, deGermany, nzNew Zealand (Aotearoa), myMalaysia, twTaiwan, Columbia, jpJapan, esSpain, dkDenmark, grGreece, itItaly, ilIsrael, aethe United Arab Emirates, brBrazil, Venezuela, nlthe Netherlands, Samoa, arArgentina, krSouth Korea, luLuxembourg, plPoland, seSweden, auAustralia, saSaudi Arabia, hkHong Kong, atAustria, the Dominican Republic, sgSingapore, czthe Czech Republic, zaSouth Africa, fiFinland, chSwitzerland, trTurkey, ruthe Russian Federation, pkPakistan, eeEstonia, inIndia, beBelgium, ttTrinidad and Tobago,  thThailand, clChili, lvLatvia, the Flag of Cayman IslandsCayman Islands, bnBrunei Darusalam, Belize, skthe Slovak Republic, hrCroatia (Hrvatska), huHungary, Zambia,  the bhKingdom of Bahrain, roRomania, ecEcuador, Kenya, Tanzania flagTanzania, idIndonesia, the phPhilippines, Seychelles, cnChina, Macedonia, ieIreland, yuYugoslavia, lbLebanon, ltLithuania, crCosta Rica, ptPortugal, irIran, kwKuwait, egEgypt, bgBulgaria, maMorocco, ccCocos (Keeling) Islands, intInternational, lkSri Lanka, pyParaguay, mtMalta, viVirgin Islands, pePeru, qaQatar,  euEuropean Union, isIceland, ghGhana,  siSlovenia,ecEcuador, coColombia, muMauritius, joJordan, byBelarus, fjFiji, zwZimbabwe, nuNiue, uyUruguay, kzKazakhstan, niNicaragua, omOman, cyCyprus, vnVietnam, ngNigeria, snSenegal, prPuerto Rico, dzAlgeria, baBosnia-Herzegovina,  azAzerbaidjan,  gtGuatemala, kgKyrgyzstan, agAntigua and Barbuda, mnMongolia, anNetherlands Antilles, guGuam (USA), bsBahamas, gmGambia,  lcSaint Lucia, Uzbekistan, ugUganda, mcMonaco, paPanama,  gyGuyana, npNepal, the uaUkraine,  jmJamaica,  mo Macau, boBolivia, geGeorgia,  bfBurkina Faso, toTonga,  adAndorra,  mvMaldives,  bmBermuda, svEl Salvador, sdSudan,  khCambodia, bdBangladesh, etEthiopia,  naNamibia,  vcSaint Vincent & Grenadines,  clChile,  alAlbania, mdMoldova, ly Libya,  mmMyanmar,  hnHonduras,  pfPolynesia (French),  sySyria,  Saint Kitts & Nevis Anguilla, Republic of Serbia,  Ivory Coast (Cote D'Ivoire), aoAngola, yeYemen, btBhutan, and tnTunisia.

To our Readers,

We are now beginning our eleventh year of publication and our tenth volume, as our first volume was a double issue. Our readership has increased many fold in the last several years, and we welcome both new and long-time followers. We began this process in March of 2000 and have grown to have worldwide readers and contributors. The sun never sets on our readers, and we are grateful to all of you who have made us a successful publication. We have been blessed because of your continued and growing dedication.

We wish you all a prosperous New Year and hope that enlightened searching will lead to ever deeper sympathy among all humankind.

—M H Perry and all of Word Worth
